August 2021 - Partnership Tank OHV Areas - Cleanup Project

Our Dedicated Restoration Team removed 7,880 pounds (3.94 tons) of trash and 6 tires removed and recycled from the Partnership Tank OHV areas on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

Thank you to everyone at the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest Service for your support of this project.

Check out the photos and videos below, including before & after photos.

This was a pile of roofing shingles dumped on the side of the trail. We frequently find & remove residential & commercial construction dump piles from public lands.

We also found a gun in the vegetation (first photo below). We called the local sheriff’s office & they came out and picked it up.

Before & After Photos

Thank you to James and everyone at the navajo county Department of Public Works for helping us recycle 6 tires!

One evening on our walk in the forest, we came across a fort in the middle of nowhere. At the end of our project we removed it. Unfortunately, some of the damage they caused cannot be restored. Check out the damage to the trees in the first photo below.

Please do not build structures in the middle of the forest, save it for your backyard! Leave No Trace and let others enjoy nature without ever knowing you were ever there.

THANK YOU TO THE ARIZONA OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE (OHV) RECREATION FUND ADMINISTERED BY ARIZONA STATE PARKS & TRAILS FOR AWARDING A GRANT TO NATURAL RESTORATIONS AND OUR DEDICATED RESTORATION TEAM!
