11/25/22 5th annual Green Friday with REI Co-op
Lower Salt River & Bulldog Canyon
The day after Thanksgiving, we hosted our 5th annual Green Friday Lower Salt River Cleanup with REI Co-op. Volunteers picked up trash from the Lower Salt River at Sheeps Crossing Recreation Area and Bulldog Canyon at the Usery Pass & Bush Highway/Blue Point entrances.
164 volunteers, including 36 youth volunteers, helped us remove 2,080 pounds of trash (1.04 tons).
Green Friday is our way of thinking differently about the day after Thanksgiving; it’s a chance to celebrate the connection between people & outdoor spaces in their community, inspire environmental stewardship, & encourage use of outdoor spaces for education, recreation, & general health.
This event was financed in part by a grant from REI, we are grateful to everyone at REI for their continued support of our mission and our Restoration Projects across Arizona.
In addition to REI, we would also like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: Arizona Toy Pros, Battle Born Offroad, Desert Monsters Tours, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, Joyride Society, Nitro Gear & Axle, the ON Semi Foundation, Parks Project, Phoenix Suns, Salt River Project, State 48 Overland, Tru Flask, Victory 4x4, Waymo, and Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
