14th annual Four Peaks Cleanup & Restoration Event
On Saturday, November 4th, 2023, we partnered with the US. Forest Service Tonto National Forest, the National Forest Foundation, Four Peaks Brewing Co., Friends of the Tonto, & Copperstate 4Wheelers for the 14th annual Four Peaks Cleanup & Restoration Event.
213 volunteers, including 25 youth volunteers, helped us make a huge impact on this part of the Tonto National Forest.
This project was financed in part by a grant from the Arizona Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Fund administered by Arizona State Parks & Trails. We are grateful for their support of Arizona’s Off-Highway Vehicles and their commitment to responsible recreation.
Volunteers helped us remove 11,800 pounds (5.9 tons) of trash & 2 tires from Four Peaks and Sugar Loaf OHV Areas.
A group of volunteers also assisted Friends of the Tonto National Forest by removing bundles of invasive stink net & Sahara mustard while picking up trash from the area to help ensure native desert plants are not chocked out by invasive species. Several volunteers worked with the Tonto Forest Service and tossed seed balls made at Four Peaks Brewing Co. in October.
Thank you to everyone at U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District for joining us and helping out wherever we needed it!
We also want to recognize & thank Four Peaks Brewing Co. for giving away event t-shirts, Stellar Adventures for donating bathrooms, Copperstate 4Wheelers for helping with sign-in & traffic control, & TnA Wieners for catering lunch in a remote location. Thank you to everyone from Tonto Recreation Alliance for your help!
We would also like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: Arizona Adventure Group, AVNET, AZ 4Runner Outsiders, Arizona Toy Pros, Battle Born Offroad, Desert Monsters Tours, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, Nitro Gear & Axle, OdySea Aquarium Foundation, REI Co-op, Resolution Copper, Salt River Project, State 48 Overland, Stellar Adventures, Tru Flask, Victory 4x4, and Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
