On Saturday, October 7th, 2023, we teamed up with Salt River Tubing & Salty Scuba Squad for Salt River Tubing’s end of year cleanup.
88 volunteers, including 9 youth volunteer, helped remove 2,000 pounds of trash from the river! Some volunteers canvased the river on foot, while others floated down the river picking up trash along the way. Salty Scuba Squad divers picked up trash underwater.
Two dive teams from Salty Scuba Squad removed trash underwater at Sheep Crossing and Pebble Beach. Volunteers on paddle boards and kayaks assisted divers and picked up trash volunteers on foot could not reach.
Volunteers found sunglasses, shoes, sheets, towels, hats, clothing, shade canopies, pallets, cans, bottles (full & empty), river toys, and so much more!
