Annual Arizona Adventure group cleanup
We originally planned a water-based cleanup in July with our friends from Arizona Adventure Group & No Snow Stand Up Paddleboard, but it had to be rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions. We’re thankful we were able to reschedule for a land-based cleanup the first Saturday in October.
40 volunteers, including 5 youth volunteers, helped us remove 349.5 pounds of trash from the Lower Salt River at Pebble Beach & Blue Point Recreation Areas. We removed mostly micro-trash, a bunch of Capri Sun straws & the straw wrappers, fishing poles & fishing line, rafts, masks, cigarette butts, kids toys, clothing, shoes & flip flops, zip ties, glass & plastic bottles, broken glass, bottle tops, aluminum cans, grocery bags, sunglasses, cardboard, wrappers, camp chairs, a broken piece of guard rail, and much more. Thank you to everyone who joined us today to help us make a positive impact on the Lower Salt River, we had a blast with all of you!
Thank you to everyone who purchased an event t-shirt to support our mission! On July 24th, at No Snow Stand Up Paddleboard in Mesa, Arizona Adventure Group presented our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a donation for $878 for our Restoration Programs!
Thank you to everyone at U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District for their support of this event!
