Lower Salt River Cleanup with united by blue
On Sunday, May 15th, we teamed up with our friends at United By Blue to host a Lower Salt River Cleanup
41 volunteers, including 11 youth volunteers helped us remove 240.5 pounds of trash! We also had help from United By Blue staff and Natural Restorations Dedicated Restoration Team. We removed a lot of micro plastic, clothing, shoes, bottles, cans, coolers, wrappers, water floats, glitter, confetti, and much more! One of the strangest volunteer finds today was a cheese grater.
Thank you to Maria and everyone from United By Blue, we had so much fun teaming up them again! We teamed up with UBB back in June 2018 when we cleaned along the Rio de Flag Watershed in Flagstaff, so it was a lot of fun to work together again. Click HERE to check out that event.
In addition to United By Blue, we would also like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: AZ 4Runner Outsiders, Arizona Toy Pros, Battle Born Offroad, Davidson’s Inc., Desert Monsters Tours, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, Joyride Society, Nitro Gear & Axle, the ON Semiconductor Foundation, Overland Expo Foundation, the Phoenix Suns, REI, Salt River Project, State 48 Overland, Tru Flask, Unisource Energy Services, Victory 4x4, WAYMO, and Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
Thank you to everyone at U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District for their support of this event!
