04/07/18 Desert Cleanup Between Superior & Picketpost Mountain
Tonto National Forest, Globe Ranger Distrcit
Natural Restorations hosted a Desert Cleanup between Superior and Picketpost Mountain on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Volunteers and Forest Service Rangers from the Globe Ranger Distrcit helped us remove fill two 40-yard dumpsters with 3.67 tons of trash (7,340 pounds) and we removed 11 tires. Thank you to all of the volunteers for helping us make a significant impact on this area.
We would like to thank the Town of Superior, including Mayor Mila Besich-Lira and Town Manager, Todd Pryor, for your support and for bringing a front-end loader out to help. Todd operated the loader throughout the morning taking loads of trash from the desert to the dumpsteres behind the Superior High School. We would also like to thank Tom Hawk, Ismael, Evvy, and everyone else at Imerys Perlite USA, Inc. for your support and for bringing another front-end loader out to help! We greatly appreciate Ismael operating the loader all morning! Thank you to Steve Estatico, Superintendent of Superior Unified School District for letting us put the dumpsters behind the school.
