Sugar Loaf OHV Area Cleanup Event
We hosted a Sugar Loaf OHV Area Cleanup on Saturday, March 7th, 2020. 86 volunteers, including 14 youth volunteers, came out to remove trash illegally dumped or left behind by people recreating in the area, including irresponsible target shooters.
Volunteers helped us remove 9,480 pounds of trash, that’s 4.74 tons of trash no longer littering this area! We also removed and recycled 5 tires. Thank you to all of the volunteers for helping us make a significant impact on this area!
Thank you to Robin from the Tonto National Forest Law Enforcement and several staff members from the Tonto National Forest for all of their help and for keeping volunteers safe during the target shooting closure.
The cleanup project at Sugar Loaf OHV Area was financed in part by a grant from the Arizona Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Fund administered by Arizona State Parks & Trails.
We would like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: Arizona State Parks & Trails, Battle Born Offroad, CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Desert Monsters Tours, Garland Signs & Specialties, ICON Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, J.D. Bowers & Associates, LeBaron & Carroll Insurance, Mr Target, Nitro Gear & Axle, OdySea Aquarium Foundation, ON Semiconductor, Sierra Expeditions, Salt River Project, Stellar Catering, Tru Flask, the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District, Victory 4X4, and Yamaha Outdoors.
