02/10/18 Trail Cleanup on the Tonto National Forest
Along Bush Highway between Butcher Jones and the Bee-Line
We teamed up with our friend, Mica Harkins, to bring a small group of volunteers out to a site along Bush Highway between Butcher Jones and the Bee-Line.
Between the 12 of us, including 2 volunteers under the age of 18 years old, we removed 1,045 pounds of trash and six tires from the Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District. We removed a shingle pile, broken glass, lots of shot up metal, car parts and tires, and scattered trash left behind from before the trail was closed to vehicles.
We would like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: Ascender Game Carrier, CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Garland Signs & Specialties, The Home Depot in Mesa on Crismon Road & US60, The Home Depot in NE Mesa on McKellips & Power, Knuckle Busters, LeBaron & Carroll Insurance, Salt River Project, and the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District.
