01/27/24 2nd annual Lower Salt River Tree Planting with Ecoculture
On Saturday, January 27th, 2024, we teamed up with Ecoculture for the 2nd annual Lower Salt River Tree Planting Event. It was a gorgeous day for 159 volunteers, including 27 youth volunteers, to help us plant 26,200 Goodding’s Willow, Coyote Willow, & Velvet Mesquite trees at the Lower Salt River.
Thank you to Justin & Jacob from Ecoculture for their hard work preparing for this event & the amazing work they are accomplishing with their team at the Lower Salt River! They have treated roughly 320 acres for the removal of invasive species, which helped the fire spread across this habitat.
We started our Replanting Program working with Justin & Jacob on their Lower Salt River Restoration Project in November 2020, January 2021 & March 2021. Each year, we team up with them to plant thousands of trees to bolster native plant populations & improve wildlife habitat in this desert river ecosystem. Check out the 2023 Tree Planting Event HERE.
In addition to Ecoculture, thank you to all of the event partners; the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest, National Forest Foundation, Audubon Southwest, & Arizona Department of Forestry & Fire Management.
We would also like to thank our Sponsors, they help us put our mission into action every day: Arizona Wholesale Growers, AVNET, AZ 4Runner Outsiders, Arizona Toy Pros, Battle Born Offroad, Desert Monsters Tours, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, Nitro Gear & Axle, OdySea Aquarium, REI Co-op, Salt River Project, State 48 Overland, Stellar Adventures, Tru Flask, Victory 4x4, and Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
